- Description
- Purpose of role:
Manufacture product in line with company procedures, work instructions and quality standards. This is initially a 12-month contract potentially extending due to workload. Hours: Mon – Thursday with shift choice of 06.00 – 15.00 or 07.00 – 16.00 (2 x 30 mins breaks)
Responsibilities:- Conduct manufacturing activities to company work instructions and quality standards associated with some or all of the following, depending on training/competency status:
- Component and stent graft washing
- Manufacture of sub-assemblies
- Attaching and loading of stent to delivery system
- Final Assembly of delivery system
- Pouching of product for packaging
- Setting up and operating Embroidery Machine
- Complete prep work for making of stent graft, including gluing, changing the bobbins and loop forming, making radio opaque markers
- Operate the Circular Sewing Machines
- Hand sewing the stent graft, finishing off thread ends and over sewing
- Learn new sewing techniques under the guidance of Engineering
- Assist in developing work instructions
- Help create training material (both internal and external) and train out the new instructions where required
- Assisting in other project work as directed by the Project Lead
- Perform “2nd operator” checks in accordance with current procedures as required
- Demonstrate production techniques to colleagues and visitors
- Train/assess colleagues in production processes (where experienced and determined to be competent to do so)
- Support development projects from time-to-time
- Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace (5S)
- Participate in Process Improvement activities in conjunction with the Team Leader
- Utilise visual aid techniques such as KanBan to support stock management process
- Ensure accuracy of stock within Cleanroom, conducting PI/cycle counting as required
- Inform Team Leader of any potential stock out of parts
- Check all equipment being used has not exceeded its calibration date
- Ensure all material such as glue being used has not exceeded its expiry date
- Preparation of samples for testing
- Assist other departments when directed by the Team Leader
- Close attention to detail in working tasks and experience following procedures and written instructions
- Ability to work in a Clean Room environment and comply with cleanroom standards
- Self-motivation to complete routine tasks with a high standard of accuracy and repeatability
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform required tasks
- Clear and legible handwriting
- Hours: Mon – Thursday with shift choice of 06.00 – 15.00 or 07.00 – 16.00 (2 x 30 mins breaks)
- No makeup, deodorant, nail varnish, body sprays or perfume is allowed in the cleanroom environment (Tattoos and tattooed make up are acceptable as they are permanent and will not affect the atmosphere)
- The position is highly focused on hand sewing under magnified conditions, so good eyesight is required
- All technicians participate in the manual clean of the area on a daily basis with a deep clean taking place once per week. Pungent chemicals are used, so a tolerance for should be considered
- 100% site based
