- Summary of position
Planning, preparation and delivery of teaching modules for BA (Hons) Business Management university courses. Provision of learning opportunities to a varied range of adult learners, ensuring appropriate feedback, support and fairness. Conformity with assessment and administrative requirements and reporting procedures.
Main Responsibilities- As a tutor you are required to carry out the following duties in line with College policies and practices, particularly Equality and Diversity, Health & Safety and Data Protection
- Plan, deliver and report on your module, using methods and materials appropriate to the learner group and module/programme content. A scheme of work should be used for this and made available to the internal verifier and Academic Manager
- Prepare appropriate teaching materials, if required
- Identify the needs of learners and adapt delivery style to meet these needs
- Liaise with Academic Manager to be aware of resources, administration, including procedures in case of fine and other health and safety issues
- Ensure learners are given feedback on their progress on timely and in a constructive manner
- Ensure that all required paperwork, including student reports, feedback reports on module assignments and salary claim forms are submitted by deadline date
- Attend relevant induction and tutor training meetings

- Able to lead the group in an informal but structured way
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Able to motivate students and encourage participation
- Able to design and deliver effective education/training
- Able to promote Equal Opportunities in practice
- Able to manage administrative tasks effectively
Experience- A qualification in the teaching subject offered or evidence of competence to teach
- Preferably teaching or group work experience
- Preferably experience of designing teaching materials
- Ideally hold a teaching a qualification
- Teaching skills complemented ideally by specialist practical experience in the related business topic
