Description
Main purpose of the job:
Manage all existing suppliers and develop sustainable purchasing processes and strategies that are aligned to the objectives of the company while ensuring stock levels are controlled

Who you are responsible to:
Your immediate line manager is the Head of Operations, but ultimately answerable to all the Company directors

Who you are responsible for:
The Buyer. You will also be working closely alongside many departments, and as such need to be able to manage people expectations, and available time.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete Supply chain management
  • Deliver procurement best practice and mitigate risk
  • Implement procurement strategies across all channels of purchasing
  • Work with our CRM system to understand forecasting and demand planning
  • Control and management of all cost of goods across the business
  • Identify the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and sustainability
  • Build strong relationships with existing and new suppliers
  • Work with the Quality dept to carry out supplier audits when required
  • Negotiate and agree contracts
  • Work closely with Engineering and Commercial team on sourcing for new products
  • Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
  • Produce regular reports on spending and saving
  • Evaluate bids and make recommendations
  • Provide the business with regular market intelligence and early notification alerts
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.

Skills needed:
  • CIPS accredited
  • Electromechanical industry experience advantageous
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of packaging,
  • Commercially aware
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure
