- Facilities Maintenance Assistant
A highly varied and “every day is different” role for a proactive and customer-centric individual.
You will be part of a busy, dynamic and supportive on-site team with a variety of infrastructure and workforce to assist in ensuring operations are compliant and uninterrupted, including warehouses, showroom premises and office buildings. This agency contract role is required on an ongoing basis and expected to be at least until Spring 2022 whilst approval and application process for an apprenticeship takes place. The postholder will be able to apply for the apprenticeship once advertised.
Salary = £12 - £14 / hour, depending on experience
Monday – Friday. Hours flexible around 7am – 5.30pm, 37.5 hour week
Perform and assist in general building and facilities services such as moving furniture, changing light bulbs, fix minor leaks, building shelves, fixtures and fittings alterations.• Assist Facilities Maintenance Technician in “two-man jobs” e.g. observing and emergency support for working at heights, minor plumbing works, mounting whiteboards / pictures and similar light duties.
• Logging incoming work requests and informing customers the timescales for work completion.
• Communicate updates on requests and priorities across the team.
• Request and collect information from contractors and their quotations for specific works required
• Liaising with contactors and showing them around site to ensure they understand job requirements.
• Enter purchase requisitions to system and forward approved POs to suppliers
• Update access control system with staff changes and print / issue passes as required
• Update intranet with information. Assist with archiving e-information for the Building Services office.
• Assist in building and facilities mandatory inspections and checks on premises, highlighting and following up any required actions
• Collect and forward information for environmental reporting including waste and hazardous materials
• Assist building services maintenance technician as required, including practical skills and manual handling
Essential Technical Skills
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal• Proficient in Word and Excel• Excellent attention to detail• Basic understanding on buildings and facilities functions such as plumbing, electrics, HVAC• Good customer service and communication skills, both by telephone and face to face.• Experience of good administration.• Time management and prioritisation skills.- Please note: Only candidates with the relevant skills and experience will be contacted regarding this position.
