- Providing professional and efficient advisory services to managers and employees on all aspects of HR, in line with association policies and procedures. Ensuring the effective function of day-to-day HR activities. Responsible for all operational HR aspects of the employment life cycle, including recruitment, induction, performance management, absence, and exit. Regularly reviewing current working processes and systems and making recommendations for change where needed.
Role Responsibilities:
Conducting all day-to-day operations of the HR department
Processing all HR documentation, such as employment contracts, and any related administration
Updating and maintaining employee data on the HR databases (Employment Hero, Atlas, Teamseer & internal HR drive)
Dealing with employee requests in relation to any HR issues, policies and procedures
Preparing the payroll by collating and inputting relevant data into our payroll provider
Dealing with all aspects of recruitment from liaison with Managers, appropriate advertising of roles and conducting interviews, including the regular review of the preferred recruitment agencies
Organising and conducting employee inductions in liaison with Managers to ensure the appropriate process is followed, including regular review of the process to maximise the new starter experience
Managing the leaver process, conducting exit interviews, documentation and reporting
Organising the annual employee engagement survey, along with reviewing and presenting the results, making recommendations, and implementing changes where possible
Administration of the employee benefit schemes including, but not limited to, Pensions, Healthcare Cash Plan and Cycle to work scheme
Conducting regular meetings with managers to identify any HR or training needs
Supporting employee development by acknowledging all training requests, managing the training budget and approving requests where possible, ensuring relevant administration is processed
In conjunction with the Venue Executive, being responsible for the Health & Safety Policy. Undertaking a regular H&S audit (risk assessment) in relation to employees and taking remedial action where necessary, including conducting DSE assessments
Maintain any HR related member advice lines, reporting back on their use
Ensuring HR policies & procedures are up to date, in line with current legislation and industry standards, and updating the Intranet with these updates
Making recommendations, where appropriate, on HR systems and functions, such as employee management system, payroll system, employee engagement survey, making the association a great place to work
Regularly recording member contact ensuring that the interaction and outcomes are input to the membership database (CRM) to maintain records and reference member data
Following organisational process and procedures to ensure member expectations and agreed service level agreements are met
Managing and protecting member and customer information in accordance with company policy and General Data Protection Regulations
Undertaking such other duties, commensurate with the responsibilities above, as may from time to time be
required by members of the management team
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience within an HR role
CIPD Level 5 qualified, or working towards or qualified by experience
The ability to work as part of a team, support colleagues and promote excellent team spirit
Excellent communication skills, confidential and sensitive with the ability to be objective and empathetic
Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills
IT Literate with demonstrable knowledge of MS Office including Outlook
