- Description
- The Communications Specialist will contribute to the Marketing and Communications teams’ objectives to reach and engage key audiences, with a focus on managing internal and external communications. A proficient copywriter, effective communicator and networker to develop strong relationships with key partners. The individual needs to have a broad knowledge of the company products and services and take a lead role in the tasks they are responsible for.
Responsibilities
External Communications and Media relations- Develop effective corporate communication strategies.
- Copywriting of press releases and editorial content
- Management of company partnerships with Associations
- Press network development
- Lead on thought leadership initiatives including speaking opportunities at third party events as well as company.
- Lead on reputation management
- Monitoring company media coverage
- Manage internal communications (monthly newsletter, weekly news)
- Assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership.
Content editing- Research key topics and analysing research data
- Interview industry professionals and use online sources to research topics.
- Edit International School Leader Magazine and liaise with external designer and proof-reader to produce the magazine.
- Copywriting of brand content, including company white papers, website news and community platform
- Produce content for conferences and events, including presentation slides and scripts.
- Manage the Communications team (Content Editor)
- Contribution to new ideas and workshops for multi-channel campaigns
- Support the team as needed.
Essential requirements- Degree or equivalent qualification in Communication, Media relations, or Marketing (with a focus on communication)
- Proven experience as communications specialist, PR manager, senior editor or similar role within K-12 education
- Previous people management experience
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Strong Word and PowerPoint skills essential.
- Strong copywriting skills for brand recognition
- Strong understanding of SEO and social media as a communication tool
- Ability to identify key messages to engage a broad range of audiences.
- Knowledge of website and social media metrics
- Knowledge and experience of brand monitoring tactics
- Brand mention or social media platform experience
- Proficient in using Google Analytics
- CMS Experience, preferably WordPress
