The marketing and communications manager formulates and implements a strategy to generate strong engagement with the brand and leads for new business opportunities. Heading up a small marketing and communications team, the marketing director also defines annual marketing plans to run multi-channel campaigns and reports on their effectiveness.
Responsibilities- Show strong brand integrity responsibility to ensure the highest standards of quality, content and messaging from the marketing team and across all marketing channels.
- Manage and mentor the marketing and communications team members.
- Develop and implement the annual marketing plan including multi-channel. campaigns to raise awareness of the company brand and generate leads.
- Report on department KPIs.
- Analyse marketing and sales data including prospect journey and feedback to inform marketing and future business plans.
- Define and maintain internal marketing processes, ensuring compliance across the team.
- Lead on the production of white papers, from identifying relevant topics to researching, organising production and launch.
- Lead on the organisation of events and major company conferences (like the international school awards and the annual conference) to draft the agenda and content, find speakers and engage audiences.
- Coordinate / support the production of International School Leader magazine.
- Develop sponsorship opportunities for commercial audiences within marketing content, in partnership with sales.
- Ensure all marketing channels are optimized and updated, including the company website, social media, event platforms and printed materials.
- Monitor annual marketing budget.
- Manage marketing data and ensure that all marketing activities are in compliance with legal regulations.
- Manage relationships with external agencies and marketing platform providers.
- Follow the Quality Management System and Information Security Management System (ISO 9001 & 27001 framework).
- Previous B2B marketing manager experience, ideally in K-12 education.
- Must have admin level experience in using marketing CRMs, ideally Salesforce and its Marketing Cloud Account Engagement product (Pardot).
- Must have experience of developing team members at various experience levels (from graduates to executive level).
- Experience of using PR and social media to engage audiences.
- Media relations experience.
- Experience in organising in-person and online events that target a worldwide audience.
- Has experience of building and developing engaged communities.
- Experience of utilising creative, in-house marketing skills in order to deliver marketing in cost-effective ways that do not usually require external agencies.
- Ideally will have education or international education marketing experience (this may be higher education and/or K-12 experience).
- Degree or relevant qualification in (digital) marketing and/or communication.
- Expert understanding of inbound marketing and how to leverage organic channels.
- Strong project and event management skills.
- Excellent marketing leadership skills to manage, lead, communicate and mentor the marketing team.
- Strong website management skills, including understanding of SEO techniques.
- Proficient in using brand and marketing analytics tools, ideally Google Analytics and Search Console, and Salesforce/Pardot reports.
- Proficient in using and managing website CMS (ideally WordPress) including ecommerce functionalities
- Strong proofreading skills.
- Sales pipeline data management and evaluation to lead marketing strategy and action.
- An energetic and action-oriented individual who will do what is needed to ensure a marketing campaign is delivered successfully, on time and with the highest standards of execution and evaluation.
- A good communicator and motivational leader who can work across departments to optimize marketing success.
- Strong Salesforce and Pardot skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
