Job summary

Working on the full range of technical sales activities you will develop sales plans by product and geography to maximise revenue growth including lead development, price quotations, contract negotiation and account management as you raise turnover via existing, new and clients. The role will provide significant opportunity to utilise your Physics or Engineering background as you provide custom solutions for non-standard products obtaining clear customer definition for unique applications, through to providing technical guidance to customers on product enquiries. You will be selling technology from components to large-scale instrumentation, additional you will have product management responsibility for specific product ranges and responsibility for developing and implementing a plan for this product range.

Key responsibilities

  • Compilation of commercial and technical documents for tenders.
  • Use of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Sage 200 software packages.
  • Online calls with customers presenting solutions and CAD models.
  • Data analysis and compilation of future product plans.
  • Management of standard quotes and costings to maintain accuracy.
  • Oversight of custom quotations.
  • Responding to customer enquiries and providing quotations as required.
  • Global customer visits and conferences where required.
  • Weekly and monthly sales report on prospects.

Skills & experience:

  • Degree in Science / Engineering or relevant experience
  • At least 3 years technical sales experience
  • Ability to maintain focus and business acumen during sales/business negotiations
  • Confident with Microsoft Office Packages (Word and Excel)
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Experience using CRM Software (ideally Dynamics 365)
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to customise excel reports and CRM templates
