- Description
- We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic R&D Technician to join the manufacturing and R&D teams operating within our ISO class 7 cleanrooms. You will be part of a fast-growing and dynamic environment and will need a strong ability to adapt to new challenges. The work will be heavily project oriented and you will be working closely with the scientific lead for a given project. The nature of what we do means that a lot of the work has no predetermined solution to it, and you should be prepared to be able to think outside the box. You will operate a wide range of laboratory and production equipment, follow SOPs, and keep accurate records of all work undertaken. A degree in a relevant scientific discipline - physics, chemistry, engineering, materials science, biomedical engineering, etc. and/or a background in medical manufacturing or other regulated industry is required. The role will involve training in a wide variety of metrology and post-processing techniques, and you will expand your skillset. As we grow in our operations, so will you, and opportunities to grow and develop beyond this role will be offered depending on your abilities and interests.
Main responsibilities- Undertake tasks as allocated on R&D projects / production plan including setting machines for production runs, post processing, quality assurance and general cleanroom preparation and checks.
- Assist in Process Improvement Actions and Quality Investigations as required
- Maintain records for equipment and assist in the generation of batch documentation.
- Work to and maintain Quality Standards.
- Ensure the management team and appropriate team members are aware of issues or potential issues in a timely manner.
- Work with the wider technical team to ensure the efficient running of the site
- Use metrology equipment (Electron Microscopes, Mechanical Testing, etc…) to analyse samples
- Work closely with project leads to carry out short- and long-term projects
- Make polymer/solvent solutions for processing
