- Description
- Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for the administrative functions associated with materials supply and supplier management. You will be accountable for contributing towards and implementing the procurement strategy, and highlighting opportunities to make improvements in our approach to procurement to ensure:
- Mitigation of risk of late or poor quality deliveries
- Improvements in margin (price reductions)
- Improvements of quality
Administrate all aspects of material supply including:- Raise purchase schedules and orders
- Expedite deliveries from suppliers
- Update prices, MOQs, trigger levels, supplier details on the company system
- Communicate effectively to internal departments regarding supply issues (shortages/delays, price changes)
Support Logistics function with stock control including:- Set up of stock records/locations/Stock error investigation and correction.
- Support full stocktakes including ensuring adequate preparation, inputting and investigation/reconciliation of count variances.
- Reduce the cost to manufacture our product
- Mitigate the risk of suppliers not delivering on time
- Mitigate the risk of suppliers not delivering quality
- Take lead role with control of consignment stocks, liaising with suppliers regarding weekly queries on usages and supporting with stocktakes including investigation/reconciliation of variances.
- Ensure correct stock levels are maintained/replenished
Requirements of the role:- An excellent aptitude for using electronic resource planning (ERP) systems and excellent skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Previous experience of working in manufacturing in a purchasing/materials function.
- Experience of working with multiple suppliers, utilising strong communication skills.
- Strong planning, prioritising, and organisation skills.
- A proactive hands on approach.
- Awareness of the major contributors to risk during procurement and approaches that can be taken to mitigate risk
- Car driver due to rural location
Hours 8.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday
Pension contributions and holiday loyalty scheme - After one years’ service Holiday increases one day per annum.
