Description

An opportunity to join a fast-growing field of industry with critical linkage to new product development and ongoing operations. This area has shifted from a purely behind-the-scenes world of compliance to a complex and challenging business-critical organisation that helps drive strategy.

The role is in the Regulatory Projects team (part of PSRC) and is responsible for the implementation of compliance of existing componentry with global chemical management legislation and the registration of new components to support Technology Must-Win projects. The successful candidate will be involved in both activities, with the role involving significant collaboration with internal stakeholders and external industry contacts.

What you will be doing:
  • Develop strategy and project manage global notifications for new and existing components, including updates required as a result of dossier or substance evaluation
  • Prepare registration dossiers for submission to the European Chemicals Agency and other global authorities
  • Collaborate with colleagues (Toxicology, Technology, and Procurement) and external third parties (Regulatory consultants, Toxicology laboratories, co-producers and industry consortia) to develop and implement registration strategies
  • Evaluate and assess the impact of new legislation and Guidance
  • Attend conferences and industry meetings as necessary
  • Provide clear and effective communication to internal stakeholders (e.g. Sales, Procurement, Business Growth & Technology, Manufacturing, Law, etc) on our compliance obligations, project status and risks and the impact of emerging regulatory developments on our products
  • Support our affiliates, manufacturing sites and toll processors during enforcement inspections by local regulatory agencies and meeting any obligations arising
  • What skills will you gain from this role?
  • You will gain valuable experience in the growing area of global chemical regulations and their compliance implementation, by supporting the range of businesses.
  • The role will provide a good understanding of how external regulatory factors can affect the competitiveness of our commercial operations.
  • Through interactions with other chemical companies in industry task forces, you will develop relationship-building and influencing skills

A successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or a relevant life-sciences related discipline
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and good judgement in interpreting complex situations
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively, including experience of presenting and justifying recommendations to stakeholders
  • EU REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of chemicals) experience, ideally including dossier preparation and submission, finding solutions to complex problems and interactions with ECHA and the Member State authorities.
  • Preferably experience of other new and existing global Regulations (e.g. Korea REACH, Turkey REACH, TSCA, China, Eurasia, etc)
  • Experience of other Regulations (e.g. biocides, agrichemicals, etc) would be favourable

Please note: Only candidates with the relevant skills and experience will be contacted regarding this position.
