The Financial Planning & Analysis function are looking for an experienced Business Partner to join their team in Reading The analyst will be a key member of the Finance team and will provide a support framework to the Group’s Product Management & Product Developments teams working across all parts of the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Key finance business partner to the Product Development and Product Management teams
- Own the month-end FP&A reporting process for Product functions including variance analysis, commentary vs. forecast & plan and updated forecasts
- Own the forecast and budgets processes for Product functions & the collation and review of monthly commentary
- Working closely with the financial control team/Business support to implement improvements in the month end processes and enhance the quality of reporting and controls to necessary standards
Role Elements- Responsible for all business analysis and support, ensuring the execution of business objectives and playing a key role in the functional leadership team to help them accomplish the targets set by the company
- Develop with functional leadership the Business actions linked to the Annual Plan / Priorities that delivers targeted requirements
- Support Product managers in preparing business cases for new product opportunities
- Improve analytical tools to provide better driver/variance/trend analysis to support preparation of business cases
- Lead the production and management of annual budgets/plans and regular re-forecasts within the group's overall strategy
- Take a lead role understanding and challenging current business practice, identifying and implementing initiatives to improve process and deliver business growth objectives
- Driving analysis and commentary around key KPI's and financial impact including forward looking opportunities and risk
- Partner with Controllership and Group FP&A functions to ensure the overall finance environment is robust and compliant
- Be finance functional expert for the wider organization
Key Qualifications and Skills- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA)
- Previous business partnering experience, preferably within a product development setting
- Ability to understand the interrelationships between key drivers and data across systems
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Advanced Excel
- Ability to extract and analyse multiple sources and large volumes of data
- Demonstrable track record of providing value adding financial information
- Gravitas and confidence to explain complex financial information to senior management
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
