- Position Summary:
The Regional Pricing Optimization Advisor is responsible for working closely with the Commercial Sales team in driving profitable growth through effective price realization and market share gain activities. The role will liaise with sales, finance, marketing, and other internal stakeholders to analyze customer offers within the decision-support framework. The position requires pricing, financial and business acumen, and analytical and communication skills with a mindset geared around margin improvement. The candidate will bring margin improvement recommendations to Commercial Selling partners, leveraging their insight to understand and articulate how price, volume, and the mix is impacting margins. An innate ability to understand pricing at a granular level is required while aggregating and summarizing the financial impact and or findings for presentation to leadership. In addition, the role will help the region transform by utilizing strong communication skills and challenging low-margin situations with the goal of helping the Commercial team win in the market profitably.
Responsibilities:- Support Commercial Sales in building customer centric pricing offers for new and existing business deals
- Develop and execute pricing aligned with company growth strategies maximizing short-term and long-term objectives
- Utilize decision-support framework operating in a continual mode of negotiation, coaching, and educating partners to understand the financial impact customer trades
- Lead routine price, volume and mix profitability reviews for the region interpreting monthly results and recommending margin improvement opportunities. Track and provide price realization updates of those pricing decisions and/or actions
- Proactively review region/key customer contracts for price terms and conditions improvement opportunities and providing those opportunities to the Commercial team
- Support all external and internal audit activities
- Investigate margin erosion areas partnering with regional team and internal stakeholders to understand the root cause(s), communicate the impact, and propose EBIT improvement solutions vertically and horizontally
- Track and manage the price KPIs for the region
- Perform background research on regional competitors and industry pricing trends
- Initiate and/or willingly accept projects and ad hoc analyses aimed at increasing customer value
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years applicable experience. Experience in a pricing, financial or sales or sales support related role is a plus
- Experience with SAP
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Self-motivated and proactive, with strong organizational and time management skills as well as strong analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and operate with a high sense of urgency
- Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while setting priorities, managing a diverse set of job responsibilities with effective organizational skills, and working within deadlines
