- Description
- The primary function of this role is to ensure we meet our customers demand by timely procurement of materials, spare parts, equipment, and services at optimum cost, adhering to stringent technical/ quality specifications and overall terms and conditions. You will work closely with the Operations Management team, the Planning team, and the Engineering teams to ensure that inventory levels are optimised to meet our customers demand, whilst controlling cost, quality, and availability.
The role will include:- Managing supplier relationships internally and externally to improve cost, quality, and supply.
- Sourcing existing and new products from a global supply base
- Stock management and inventory turns management within the Supply Chain
- Monitoring stock availability and expedite as require
- Carry out demand analysis / forecasting
- Global direct materials buying in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of procurement regulation
- MRP/ERP System experience, particularly Microsoft Navision
- Effective communication skills
- Track record of delivering results within a challenging supply chain environment
- Able to gain support from others through influencing skills and reasoned logic
- Good reporting and communication skills. · Data driven
- Exposure to working with technical drawings & electronics manufacturing an advantage
- CIPS accreditation desirable but not essential
