General Description:
The Supply Chain Director will be responsible for managing and developing the Purchasing and Supply Chain functions, in line with the company's strategic plan. They will ensure compliance with policies and procedures while optimising the budget to meet business and operational objectives. The director will have a commercial mindset and actively contribute to company-wide board decisions, offering long-term value to the board.
Main Duties:- Review and manage relationships with key suppliers, evaluate performance, negotiating terms and prices regularly to ensure that we are getting value for money and supplier performance is in line with our expectations.
- Analysing Supply Chain profile and metrics solving any issues and implementing initiatives.
- Manage the company's logistics functions
- Formulate and deliver a set of strategies on how we procure key categories in the most optimal way in terms of quality, total cost of ownership and speed to market.
- Engaging existing suppliers in our sustainability programme and seeking new supplier partnerships which improve our environmental footprint through materials choice, manufacturing process and freight planning.
- Ensure best practice inventory management techniques are in place and when necessary, implemented.
- Ensure company compliance and performance to regulatory standards (ISO, etc).
- Work closely with heads of departments to ensure accurate stock availability based on sales forecasts and production demand.
- Develop optimal supply chain networks, transportation, and warehousing to achieve cost and delivery targets.
- Conduct off-site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented. International travel will be required.
- Drive automation in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Develop, train and motivate direct reports.
Ancillary Duties:- To carry out such tasks and duties as may be required from time to time by Senior Management in accordance with the companies operating procedures and policies.
- Strict adherence and implementation of the health and safety at works act is an essential part of the post.
Qualifications and Experience:- Educated to degree level and/or proven experience working in a similar role
- Formal qualification in procurement and/or Supply Chain, eg. APICS, CIPS, IoSCM etc
- SAP or similar experience with relevant procurement systems
- Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience
- Minimum of 5 years management experience
- Manufacturing/Engineering experience desirable
- Global supply chain experience.
